Late at night in 2016, our founder, Eva Wilde, was in her old apartment in Berlin, and she heard the depressed crying coming from next door.

It came from a neighbor living with congenital physical differences—achingly alone, yet yearning for the warmth of touch. Too ashamed to speak her desires, yet too human not to feel them.

“Longing should never be a cage”—that revelation became the ember that ignited Whisper.
